A Method Flow Tell You How to Use Transfer Paper on Fabric

Hi, good afternoon, my dear friends! Have you remember one artical in a few days ago? The artical is about how to use transfer paper on vinyl. Then did you try it by yourself? The method is very good. So today I want to tell you the topic is about how to use transfer paper on fabric. And I hope you are interiested in it!

6 steps tell you how to operate it perfectly!
1. Wash your fabric. Your design will stick better if you wash the fabric, or use a pre-washed fabric. Wash your fabric in accordance with the manufacturer recommendations and allow it to dry completely before transferring any design onto it.
2. Print your heat transfer design if you are using a photo or intricate design. If you are transferring a photo or intricate design, use a printable heat transfer paper. This allows you to print out your design directly from your computer using a heavy paper setting.

  • Remember that your design will be mirrored when you print it, so if you are including text or want to preserve direction in your image, you will need to flip it horizontally in a photo editing software before printing.

3. Print a template if you are transferring a solid pattern. If you are transferring a simple pattern in just 1 or 2 colors, you can print your template directly on your heat transfer vinyl sheets. Then, use a precision knife or scissors to cut out your design.

  • Remember that your design will be mirrored when you print it. If you are including text or want to preserve direction in your design, you will need to flip it horizontally in a photo editing software prior to printing.
  • If you have a die cutting machine, you can use it to cut your vinyl design, instead.

4. Arrange your design on the fabric with the backing facing up. Once your design is prepped, arrange it on your fabric. Once you start to iron on the pattern you cannot move or rearrange it. Take time now to ensure everything is where you want it. Make sure that the backing is facing up, as you want to iron the backing, not the vinyl.

5. Use a heat transfer machine to transfer your design. Different transfer papers require different heat settings, so be sure to check the manufacturer's requirements to properly heat your iron. Then, slowly move the hot iron over the backing. Typically, you will want to hold the iron over each part of the design for 10-20 seconds to ensure that it sticks completely.

  • Be sure to cover the whole design with the iron. Parts of the design that don’t get heat won’t transfer correctly.
  • You may want to stick a thin towel or a piece of parchment paper in between the transfer paper and heat transfer machine to prevent wrinkles or scalding.

6. Peel off the backing. Once you have finished using the heat transfer machine on your design, allow it to cool for 30-45 seconds. Then, peel off the backing to reveal your newly completed design. If you find any parts of the transfer still sticking to the backing, run your iron over them again before continuing to peel.

Okay, these all above are my share about the steps of using tranfer paper on fabric. If you have any other needs or questions welcome to contact us at any time. We will provide you the best quality product and service. Hope my article can be useful to you. Thank you for your reading.

A Method Flow to Tell You How to Use Transfer Paper on Vinyl

Whether you are transferring a pencil drawing to a canvas, ironing a picture onto a throw pillow, or sticking a custom vinyl on your water bottle, there is transfer paper that can help you. Transfer papers relatively easy to use, but different crafts require very different transfer methods and materials. Identifying what you want from your project will help you know what kind of transfer paper to purchase, and how to use it properly.

Tell You How to Use Transfer Paper on Vinyl

1.Print out your vinyl. You can do this on your home die-cutting machine, or you can send your design to a professional print shop that offers vinyl stickers. Print out your intended vinyl text or design in your chosen color or colors

2. Clean the receiving surface. Before you get started with the transfer paper, you need to make sure that the surface on which you will be placing your vinyls is clean. Use a microfiber cloth or another soft, residue-free rag to wipe away any dirt and debris. Do not wet the surface, as this could prevent the vinyl from adhering.

3. Remove the background from your vinyl. If your vinyl still has its background intact, carefully peel away the background, leaving only the design or text that you want to transfer. Do this slowly, as you do not want your vinyl design to stick to the background. Some people find using a tool like a seam ripper or orange stick to be helpful in lifting the vinyl background.
Many vinyl print shops will remove the background for you. It is alright if your vinyl does not still have the background intact.

4. Apply the vinyl transfer paper to the vinyl. Peel the backing off the vinyl transfer paper, and press the transfer paper on top of your design. Use a scraper tool to smooth the transfer paper over the vinyl and ensure that it sticks properly.

5. Align the transfer paper on the object. Once you have rubbed down the transfer paper, slowly peel it back, ensuring that the vinyl comes up with it. Then, align it over the surface on which you want to transfer the vinyl design. Gently press the vinyl and transfer paper down with your hand so that it sticks to the receiving surface.
Pressing lightly ensures that the vinyl is not completely stuck down. This way, you can adjust or reposition the vinyl if necessary before final transfer.

6. Use a scraping tool to press the vinyl down. Once you have your vinyl in place, use a scraping tool or your fingernails to run the vinyl onto the receiving surface. Then, slowly peel back the transfer paper, taking caution to make sure the vinyl sticks to the receiving surface. If the vinyl is sticking to the paper, use your scraper or fingers to press it down harder, then continue to peel.

Okay, these all above are my share about the methods of how to using transfer paper to move vinyl cutouts. If you have any other needs or questions welcome to contact us at any time. We will provide you the best quality product and service. Hope my article can be useful to you. Thank you for your reading.

How to Use Transfer Paper DIY a T-shirt for Your Father at Father's Day?

Hello, nice to see you, my friends! Father's Day will coming! What is the presents do you want to send your father? Have you ever thought about making a gift for your father. Today I'm going to teach you how to DIY a t-shirts with transfer paper, what do you think it? Then, you can sent your father one beautiful t-shirt at Father's Day! Your father must be very happy!

Transfer paper is used to permanently place an image onto a piece of fabric such as a T-shirt, jacket, jersey, cloth banner, flag or other textile. When the paper is heated, its adhesive backing melts the printed image directly into the fabric. Such a project represents an enjoyable and inexpensive way for creative types to make their own original garments.

Print Preparation
Choose the image you wish to print and the garment you want to print it on. Check your printer options to ensure it is on the highest resolution or a photo-quality setting. Also, set the printer for "mirror mode," which reverses the image on the paper so that it will look right on the garment. Mark one side of a regular piece of paper with an X and print out a test so you know which side of the paper the printer will print on and whether the quality is sufficient.

Printing the Image
Load the printer so that the blank-coated side of the transfer paper will receive the image. Most brands of transfer paper will have a red grid or similar warning on the reverse side of the paper to let you know that that side should not be printed on. Print your image onto the transfer paper, and then set it aside.

The Work Surface
Prepare a flat, solid surface to transfer the image that will not be adversely affected by heat. A large wooden or hard plastic cutting board on top of a table or workbench is a good choice. Do not use an ironing board – it is too soft for the correct amount of pressure to be applied. Once the surface is prepared, place the garment down and spread it out.

Transfer Preparation
If your garment has wrinkles, use the iron to thoroughly remove them per the garment's care tag instructions. Then, pre-heat the iron for about five minutes on its maximum setting. While it heats up, trim away the excess transfer paper around the image using a pair of scissors. Get as close to the image as possible without cutting into it – usually within 3 to 4 millimeters. Next, place the image face down onto the garment where you want it to transfer. The red grid or similar warning should be facing up.

Transferring the Image
Put the iron on a dry setting so that there is no steam. Again, the heat should be at maximum. Apply the iron to the image and move it around as though you were ironing. Apply a generous amount of pressure; this is crucial for a proper transfer, including the elimination of air bubbles. Continue moving the iron around, ensuring each part of the image is in contact with the iron for up to 60 seconds.

Peeling Off the Paper
Set the iron down, but leave it turned on. Allow the transfer paper to cool down for about five minutes or until it reaches room temperature. Then, stretch the garment a little and peel the paper off from one corner. The image should now be applied to the garment.

Finishing It Up
Place a piece of reusable silicon paper over the image on the garment. Apply the hot iron to the paper and, using firm pressure, move the iron around the paper for 20 to 30 seconds. This will add longevity to the image – particularly in the laundry – by pressing it further into the garment. Remove the silicon paper, turn off the iron and enjoy your new garment!

Do You Know the Similarities & Differences Between the Heat Sublimation Paper and the Transfer Paper?

Hi, nice to see you again! A new week begins again. Today is cloudy in Nanjing, it is very cool. Now let's begin today's topic --- Do you know the similarities & differences between the transfer paper and the heat sublimation paper? There is often some confusion involving the differences between dye sublimation and heat transfers. In fact, the two kinds paper with less similarity, the mainly is their differeces. Now read the following and I will share you more.

Both use heat presses to "transfer" the image to the substrate at about 420 degrees Fahrenheit. The main difference is in the actual transfer process that is occurring and how the image physically gets to the substrate. This means there are also differences in the items that may be decorated with either process.

In order to clarify the difference between the sublimation paper and heat transfer paper, we must to understand the principle of the sublimation and heat transfer first.

What is sublimation?

Sublimation is a digital printing process that is similar in concept to the digital transfer application, but uniquely different in the chemical process.
Technically, printing adds color to the surface of the substrate (the item being printed). Sublimation on the other hand is a dye process, meaning that it actually penetrates and re-colors the substrate below the surface.

The chemical process is such that sublimation dye turns into a gas when heat (420 degrees) and pressure is applied. It then permeates and attaches to any polymer based fiber it comes in contact with. The result is high resolution, permanent coloration that won’t peel or crack.

What is heat transfer?

Heat transfer is the process of printing onto special transfer paper and using a heat press or home iron to transfer it onto a shirt. Heat transfer is a similar process as direct-to-garment or screen-printing, but does not carry the same high cost or messy set up. It is kind of like to stickers, meaning the image will lie on top of the shirt and has a different texture than the surrounding material.

What’s the advantage of sublimation?

-Quick setup
-Unlimited colors
-Low production costs
-No special skills required
-No color separations needed
-Ideal short run production solution
-Longer life span than heat transfer
-No difference in feeling between the image and the t-shirt.

After knowing above principle, now it is time to return to our theme: what is the difference between sublimation paper and heat transfer paper?
Ink:
-Sublimation paper usually use with sublimation ink.
-Heat transfer paper usually use with dye ink, pigment ink, solvent ink or others.
Media:
-Sublimation paper can be transferred onto polyester, mouse pad, banner and hard surface, such as mug, ceramic and aluminum plate, etc.
-Heat transfer paper is usually transferred onto 100% cotton.
Requirement on the pressure:
-Heat transfer paper requires higher pressure than sublimation paper during the transfer process.
As you can see, dye sublimation is not limited to t-shirts, it opens an entirely new world of sublimation blanks – anything from coasters to jewelry, mugs, puzzles and more.

Its benefits of sublimation are obvious, but it requires the special ink-sublimation ink-which is often expensive in the local market. But please don’t worry, as one-stop supplier, Fei Yue Paper Inc. also supply the sublimation ink and offer the moderate price. We supply heat press machine, sublimation paper, sublimation ink, inkjet printer and various sublimation blanks. If you have any other needs or questions welcome to contact us at any time. We will provide you the best quality product and service. Hope my article can be useful to you. Thank you for your reading.
